Laredo, Texas – Texas A&M International men's soccer took an early 2-0 lead over No. 2 Midwestern State in Saturday's home game but ended up falling 6-3 in a wild affair that featured 32 shots and eight cards.
Jordan Mase scored the opening goal for the Dustdevils (4-5-3, 0-3-1 LSC) in the fourth minute off an assist from Johan Portales and Yahir Gallardo and Lassana Diakite added the second goal in the sixth minute.
The Mustangs (12-0-1, 4-0-0 LSC) the second three straight in the 19th, 23rd and 34th minutes to take a 3-2 lead into halftime.
TAMIU tied the game up in the 57th minute when Mase scored his second goal of the game off an assist from Jorge Amaya.
But Midwestern State scored three straight goal to end the game finding the back of the net in the 65th, 80th and 90th minutes.
The Dustdevils recorded seven shots on the game three of twhich were on target.
Gal Grodeski and Roberto Ortiz both recorded three saves.
TAMIU is in action next at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at home against West Texas A&M (6-3-3. 3-0-1 LSC).
