Laredo, Texas – Texas A&M International women's soccer sent its seniors off in style on Tuesday at home, defeating UT-Permian Basin 4-0 to clinch a spot in the LSC playoffs.
Candela Gonzalez started the scoring in the 32nd minute when she found the back of the net off an assist from Sammy Hecht.
Krysan St. Louis scored just three minutes later and Hecht scored a goal of her own 30 seconds after that on an assist from St. Louis.
The 3-0 lead held through the end of the first half and neither offense scored for most of the second half until Jadyn Casillas earned a PK with 26 seconds left in the match and scored to stretch the lead to 4-0.
TAMIU (8-3-5, 6-2-3 LSC) finished with 16 shots, 10 of which were on goal and the Falcons (4-7-5, 2-5-4 LSC) totaled 13 shots, two of which were on goal.
Lizzy Jonker and Fabiana Solano both recorded one save in goal.
The Dustdevils will wrap up the regular season at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 3 at DBU (11-0-4. 8-0-3 LSC).
