Laredo, TX – TAMIU women's basketball faced UTPB on Thursday evening and emerged victorious with a final score of 84-78.
The Dustdevils took an early lead, outscoring UTPB 18-10 and held UTPB to 27.27% field goal percentage. Despite the Falcon's efforts to mount a comeback in the second quarter, they trailed 38-23 at halftime.
The second half witnessed a spirited comeback from UTPB, but despite their effort, TAMIU maintained their lead to secure the win.
Samiyah Worrell led the Dustdevils with 22 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals, and
Bridgette Tello contributed 17 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, and 5 steals.
Malea Jackson added 15 points, while
Raiana Brown and
Telisha Brown each contributed 11.
The Dustdevils will be in action again on Saturday, December 2 at 1pm for Youth Day at the KCB in Laredo, TX.
