Dustdevils Fall to Patriots on Penalty Kicks to End Season

Dallas, Texas - TAMIU faced Dallas Baptist University (DBU) in the first round of the LSC Tournament on Saturday night, ultimately ending in three overtime periods and penalty kicks.

In the 58th minute, DBU's Peyton Voelker found the back of the net, assisted by Hunter Dierlam, granting DBU a 1-0 lead.

TAMIU responded in the 64th minute with a goal from Jorge Amaya, equalizing the score at 1-1.

After three overtime periods, the game went into penalty kicks. The teams were tied at three goals apiece in penalty kicks when the Patriots scored the game-winning goal to end the Dustdevil's season.

DBU registered a total of 24 shots, with 12 of them on target, while TAMIU managed 11 shots, 6 of which were on goal. The goalkeepers also played a crucial role, with TAMIU's keeper making 11 saves, and DBU's keeper making 5 saves.

The Dustdevils end their season with a record of 7-6-5 and a conference record of 3-4-2.
