TAMIU Takes Down #20 Lubbock Christian

TAMIU emerged victorious in a 65-60 win over #20 Lubbock Christian. The Dustdevils are only the 3rd LSC team to beat the Chaps at home since 2015.

Despite an early deficit, the Dustdevils mounted a resilient response in the second quarter, narrowing the gap to 31-25 at halftime. The third quarter proved pivotal as TAMIU outscored Lubbock Christian 22-15, establishing a 47-40 lead entering the final period. The Dustdevils held the Chaps to just 27.8% shooting from the field in the fourth quarter in the final quarter.

Malea Jackson delivering an outstanding performance with 16 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals in 38 minutes. Raiana Brown added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals. Ngozi Obineke's had a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds were crucial for the Dustdevils.

On the season, TAMIU leads the nation with an average of 20.0 assists per game. Ngozi Obineke ranks fifth (3.9) and Telisha Brown ranks sixth (3.6) in the LSC. The Dustdevils also currently rank third nationally with a scoring average of 89.8 points per game. Raiana Brown leads the offense, averaging 17.2 points per game, good for 2nd in the LSC.

The Dustdevils improve to a 9-1 overall record and a 2-1 record in the Lone Star Conference, while Lubbock Christian, now at 7-3 overall and 2-1 in the conference. The Dustdevils will return to action in Canyon, TX on Tuesday at 11:00am to face West Texas A&M.
