Warren, Ohio – Texas A&M International junior Mauricio Figueroa is tied for second place after the first day of the NCAA Division II Men's National Championship after shooting six birdies over 18 holes on Monday. 

Figueroa finished with a score of -5 (67) after shooting birdies on holes five, nine, 10, 11, 14, and 17 to cancel out a bogey on hole seven. 

He is currently one stroke out from the leader. 

Round two will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, May 23. The tournament is three rounds, with the final round on May 24.
