Lade Listed as LSC Preseason Setter of the Year

RICHARDSON, Texas – Texas A&M International sophomore Emma Lade was name a LSC 2023 Preseason Player of the Year Pick on Wednesday. 

As a freshman, Lade made an immediate impact since stepping on the court, earning a team best three honors.

Lade was named LSC Freshman of the Year, as well as First Team All-LSC and was named to the LSC All-Freshman Team.

Lade ended the regular season leading the LSC in both total assists (1,166) and assists per set (10.90). Her assist total places her second all-time in a single season in TAMIU's history, as well as placing her eighth all-time in the career assists column. Those 1,166 assists also placed her sixth in the country and her 10.90 assists per set was 18th in the nation.

Lade was second on the team in service aces with 31 and added 27 kills. Defensively, she had 287 digs, fourth best on the team and 13 assist/dig double-doubles.

She matched the program NCAA record for assists in a three-set match (41) and four-set match (51), while topping the program's 10-year-old NCAA record for assists in a five-set match with 64. The previous high was 60 set by Daria Winckler on Oct. 20, 2012.
