LAREDO, Texas - Texas A&M International University head cross country coach Benny Rodriguez announced the schedule for the 2023 season on Friday.
Both the men's and women's teams will get the season started on Sept. 8 as they head to Houston, Texas to compete in the Rice Invitational. They will then travel to San Antonio, Texas on Sept. 16 to run in the University of Incarnate Word Invitational. On Sept.23, TAMIU will compete in the Oklahoma State Jamboree in Stillwater, OK. The Dustdevils will wrap up the regular season in Dallas, Texas for the Dallas Baptist University Invitational on Oct. 7.
The Lone Star Conference Championships are scheduled for Oct. 21 and will be hosted by Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, NM. The NCAA Division II South Central Regional Championships will be held in Lubbock, Texas on Nov. 4.
Last season, both the men and the women's teams finished seventh in their respective races at the LSC Championships. The Dustdevils competed in the NCAA DII South Central Regional Championships in Denver, Colorado, the women placing 18th as a team, and the men's team placing 19th to finish the 2022 campaign.
