Laredo, Texas – Texas A&M International University baseball head coach, Phil Middleton announced the hiring of Josh Wilson to round out the Dustdevil coaching staff.
Wilson's involvement in athletics includes a significant background in professional baseball. Josh was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2005 MLB draft's 2nd round and earned the title of Cardinals Rookie League Pitcher of the Year. In 2006, he became the second youngest player in the Midwest League. Eventually, he retired from professional baseball in 2012.
Prior to his role at TAMIU, Josh served as an Assistant Coach at the University of Arkansas Rich Mountain in 2023. Wilson is also the author of a published book titled "Bonus Baby: A Long Walk Off The Mound."
