Laredo, Texas- The Texas International A&M Dustdevils took on the Western New Mexico Mustangs in Lone Star Conference action on Friday night. The Dustdevils entered the match 5-6 on the year and 7-3 all-time against the Mustangs.
It was dig pink night inside the KCB to help support breast cancer awareness. It is also appreciation week for volleyball referees around the country and there was also a special appearance by the Black Widows (a female veteran group).
Needless to say, tonight was all action. This match was all TAMIU as they took all three sets (25-17), (25-13), and (25-15). TAMIU had 49 kills on 115 attempts for a 0.296% on the night. TAMIU had four aces, four blocks, 43 assists and 53 digs on the evening.
Freshmen standout
Aryana Ledet lead the Dustdevils with 17 kills.
Mia Molina also had a standout performance with 15 kills, two blocks, one service ace and two assists.
Emma Lade kept up her star setter status as she had a game high 36 assists.Â
Lixai Perez had 17 digs, five assists and one ace.
Marianna Gamboa had 10 digs respectively.
The Dustdevils will be back in action Saturday, October 5, which will be youth day. The team will be signing autographs post-game for anyone that is interested. The match will take place at 2:00 PM against UTPB.
