Portales, New Mexico – The Dustdevils traveled to Portales to take on Eastern New Mexico in Lone Star Conference play on Friday. Two first half goals proved to be enough as TAMIU earned the 2-0 victory.
TAMIU started the scoring early on with a goal by
Krysan St. Louis in the second minute of the game.
Laura Cardenas extended the TAMIU lead with a goal in the 38
th minute. Her goal was assisted by
Janize Castillo and
Candela Gonzalez.
Claramalia Pedersen kept the Dustdevils ahead with two saves in the first half. Pedersen doubled her save total with two more saves in the second half.
Despite a scoreless second half, the Dustdevils had four shots on goal from
Gabriela Mendez-Ortiz (2),
Rosa Caird and St. Louis.
The Dustdevils close out their season on Nov. 7
th in Edmond, Oklahoma, against Oklahoma Christian. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
