Billings, Montana – The Dustdevils took on the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves in day two of the D2CCA Tipoff Classic and earned a commanding 65-51 victory.
The Dustdevils came out hot shooting 14-28 (50%) from the field and 6-17 (35.3%) from beyond the arc in the first half. The six threes in the first half by the Dustdevils doubled their total from yesterday's game.
The Dustdevil defense commanded the floor as well, holding the Seawolves to 4-16 (25%) from the field and just 1-7 (14.3%) from three-point range.
Behind a strong offensive performance in the first twenty minutes, TAMIU went into halftime with a 35-19 lead.
In the second half, TAMIU shot 9-18 (50%) from the field, 1-7 from three-point range and made 11 of their 12 (91.7%) free throws.
The TAMIU offense was led by
Emaniel Alexandre who scored 19 points and had four assists.
Anthony Ignowski finished the day with 14 points, one assist and seven rebounds.
Esteban Roacho also added 11 points and two assists.
Once again, the Dustdevil defense held the Seawolves to 11-35 (31%) from the field and 2-10 from beyond the arc.
The Dustdevils close out the D2CCA Tipoff Classic against Montana State University Billings on Sunday. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. CT.
