Laredo, Texas - Eleven Dustdevils were honored at TAMIU's 2024 Celebration of Community Engagement. The student-athletes nominated for this award have all showcased unique qualities that not only make them great Dustdevils, but also makes them exceptional people and it is a true honor to have them be a part of the Athletics program. To excel in the athletics world, a student-athlete must be able to manage their time between practice, classes, homework, competition, and more. But it is more than time management, they must have the willingness to serve as well. To know they represent more than just their team, their coaches, and the athletics department; they serve the community they call home.
 
These awardees have shown that they can do all of this and more. Our student athletes are members of our TAMIU Student Government Association, Honor Council, and Student Philanthropy Council. In addition, they have also participated in community events such as The Big Event, Make a Difference Day, and Border Olympics.  This is in addition to their responsibilities as members of their respective athletic teams.
