Box Score Billings, Montana – In the second day of the D2CCA Tipoff Classic in Billings, the Dustdevils faced their second top 10 opponent in Union University. The Dustdevils fought hard against the Bulldogs, putting up 78 points, but ultimately fell 101-78.
In the opening quarter, the Dustdevils shot 6-12 (50%) from the field and 1-2 from three-point range.
In the second quarter, TAMIU shot 8-17 (47.1%) from the field and made 9-13 free throws. Going into halftime, the Dustdevils trailed 50-40.
The third quarter saw both teams score 27 points. TAMIU shot 9-16 (56.3%) from the field, 1-2 from deep and made 8-10 free throws. The Bulldogs shot 10-19 (52.3%) from the field and just 1-7 (14.3%) from beyond the arc.
The Bulldogs closed out the fourth quarter holding TAMIU to just four field goals.
The Dustdevil offense was led by
Janiya Murphy and
Taylor Jacobson who scored 15 and 13 points respectively.
On the defensive end,
Josie Igherighe and
Alyssia Thorne both contributed six rebounds.
