2024 Jack Brown Memorial Invitational Preview

Laredo, Texas – Texas A&M International men's and women's golf are excited to once again host the Jack Brown Memorial Invitational from the Laredo Country Club, beginning Monday, Feb. 5 and concluding on Tuesday, Feb. 6.

This marks the fourth straight year the Jack Brown Memorial will take place at the Laredo Country Club.

Monday's round will begin at 9 a.m. and Tuesday's final round is set to begin at 8 a.m. with 18 holes being played each day.

The women's side of the tournament will feature seven teams, including  #9 St. Mary's, #14 West Texas A&M, University of Arkansas – Fort Smith, Lubbock Christian and Angelo State from the Lone Star Conference. Biola is also joining the field.

Senior Zoe Wurmil enters the tournament for TAMIU as the 49th ranked golfer in NCAA Division II, while graduate student Yuliana Yapur also sits in the top 100 at 72nd.

Dustdevils coach Rudy Gonzalez says the women have made some adjustments on the strategic side and are excited for the spring and conference play.

West Texas A&M will look to defend its 2023 Jack Brown Memorial team championship, winning last year by just six strokes, shooting a 614 (+38) over the two rounds. A new individual champion will be crowned as last year's winner Alyssa Campbell is now a volunteer assistant coach at West Texas A&M. She shot a 146 (+2) in last year's tournament.

The men's side of the tournament will feature five teams, including St. Mary's, University of Arkansas – Fort Smith and Lubbock Christian from the Lone Star Conference, as well as Rogers State.

Senior Noah Campbell and junior Zaden Danielson are two golfers to keep an eye on for TAMIU as both were listed in the Lone Star Conference's 'Players to Watch" list.

Coach Gonzalez says the Dustdevils have been working hard and are improving in every aspect of performance.

A new team champion will be crowned as UT Tyler won the 2023 Jack Brown Memorial. Senior Sebastian Tannum Donaldson from St. Mary's will look to defend his 2023 championship after shooting a 141 (-3) in last year's tournament.
