Canyon, Texas – Texas A&M International baseball dropped both games of a doubleheader with West Texas A&M on Saturday, losing game one 17-5 and falling in game two 8-4. The Buffaloes lead the series 3-0 with the fourth game taking place on Sunday.

West Texas A&M emerged victorious over TAMIU with a final score of 17-5 in game 1 of Saturday's double header.
West Texas A&M took an early lead in the 1st inning, with Camacho's double bringing Micklus home. TAMIU responded in the 2nd inning, as

Nick Chavez to score, tying the game at 1-1. The Dustdevils surged ahead in the 3rd inning, with
Joseph Cruz's double and
Nomar Prieto's single contributing to a 3-run lead. However, West Texas A&M staged a remarkable comeback in the 3rd and 4th innings, scoring a total of 12 runs, led by key hits from Ochoa, Batista, Wittmann, and Black. The Dustdevils managed to score one more run in the 6th inning, courtesy of
Ariben Gutierrez's single, but it wasn't enough to close the gap.
West Texas A&M's Douglas Rojas secured the win (1-0) with a strong performance, allowing no runs in 2 innings. TAMIU's
Lalo Salinas took the loss (0-1), facing 2 batters in the 4th inning before being relieved. Both teams utilized their bullpen to navigate the game.
Ariben Gutierrez had three hits, contributing one RBI. West Texas A&M's Camacho managed a double, driving in one run. Standout performances came from Paul Wittmann and Rodric Black of West Texas A&M, each delivering impactful hits. In game 2 of the double header, West Texas A&M emerged victorious against TAMIU with an 8-4 win. West Texas A&M secured a 5-0 lead in the first inning, with key contributions from Wittmann, Micklus, Fesperman, and Black. The Dustdevils fought back in the second inning, closing the gap to 5-2, highlighted by
Antonio Buentello's triple and
Isaac Stanwick capitalizing on an error. However, West Texas A&M maintained control, extending their lead in subsequent innings.
Despite TAMIU's efforts, Matt Milner of West Texas A&M delivered a solid pitching performance, securing the win. With this result, West Texas A&M improved to a 3-0 record, while TAMIU faces an 0-3 start to their season.
