Dustdevils Get Past Eagles in Game 4

Oklahoma City, Okla. - The Dustdevils got the win, 6-2, in extra innings against Oklahoma Christian in the final game of the series on Sunday.

OKC took an early lead in the first inning as Laird homered to right field and put his team ahead 1-0.

TAMIU got on the board in the sixth inning when Medina's groundout allowed Stanwick to score, tying the game at 1-1. Momentum swung in the Dustdevil's favor in the seventh as Stanwick's double brought Chavez home, giving them a 2-1 lead.

In the ninth, OKC managed to equalize the score at 2-2 when Sanchez drew a bases-loaded walk, bringing home Buckley.

TAMIU exploded in the tenth inning with four runs. Cervantes's two-run homer and Buentello's RBI triple fueled the surge, while Chavez's sacrifice fly sealed the victory, concluding the game at 6-2 in favor of the Dustdevils.

Isaac Stanwick boasted a 2-for-3 performance at the plate, including a crucial double, a walk, and an RBI that proved pivotal in securing the win. Abiam Medina, had a key RBI groundout in the sixth inning, leveling the score at 1-1 and keeping TAMIU competitive. Omar Cervantes contributed a game-changing two-run homer in the tenth inning, ultimately propelling TAMIU to victory with a 3-for-4 performance, tallying two runs and two RBIs. Antonio Buentello added a crucial RBI triple in the tenth inning, extending TAMIU's lead and solidifying the win.

The Dustdevils (14-16) return to Jorge Haynes field for a 4-game series against St. Mary's beginning on Friday, March 22 at 2 p.m.
