Dustdevils Fall to Rattlers in Game 4

Laredo, Texas - Texas A&M International baseball dropped game four of the series to the St. Mary's on Sunday, 4-10.

In the first inning, St. Mary's took the lead when Brooks launched a powerful home run, bringing in Aguilar. The Dustdevils responded swiftly with Cervantes also hitting a homer, earning them one run, followed by Cruz adding another homer, tying the game at 2-2. In the third, TAMIU took the lead with Medina scoring on a passed ball, making it 3-2.

In the fifth inning, St. Mary's managed to tie the game again when Concannon hit a triple, bringing in Elizondo, followed by Brooks grounding out to bring in Concannon, resulting in a 4-3 lead for St. Mary's.

The Rattlers started to pull away in the seventh, with Elizondo scoring on a wild pitch, followed by Galvan's double bringing in two runs, and Goins reaching base on a fielder's choice, allowing two more runs to score, leading 9-3.

In the ninth, St. Mary's extended their lead with Parrish hitting a double to bring in Goins. The Dustdevils managed to score one more run as Coolbaugh singled, bringing in Prieto.

Abiam Medina, had a hit one scored a run for the Dustdevils. Omar Cervantes and Joseph Cruz displayed their power hitting abilities, each launching a home run to drive in crucial runs for their team. Joey Coolbaugh also made a significant impact, collecting three hits including a single that drove in a run in the ninth inning.

 On the mound, Lalo Salinas took the loss for the Dustdevils. Salinas struck out nine batters over 6.1 innings while allowing only five earned runs. Greer got the win for the Rattlers.

The Dustdevils travel to Lubbock for a 4-game series against Lubbock Christian beginning on Friday, March 29.
