Lubbock, Texas - Texas A&M International baseball dropped the final game of the series on Sunday to #18 Lubbock Christian (LCU), 18-17.
In the first inning, TTAMIU surged ahead, notching five runs thanks to
Abiam Medina's RBI single,
Omar Cervantes' run-scoring hit,
Nomar Prieto's RBI single, and Joshua Benit's two-RBI single. LCU responded with two runs of their own, taking advantage of an error to bring in runners.
The second inning saw the Dustdevils adding two more runs, while LCU closed the gap with Ogilvie's RBI single. The Chaps then exploded for five runs in the third inning, propelled by several hits including singles from Gomez, Van Maan, Blair, and Ogilvie.
In the fifth, LCU extended their lead with Mccool's two-RBI double. TAMIU fought back in the sixth, scoring two runs to reduce the deficit.
The Dustdevils staged a comeback in the seventh inning, tying the game with
Joseph Cruz's two-RBI single, only for LCU to regain the lead with Gibson's sacrifice fly. The eighth inning was marked by a flurry of runs from both sides, with TAMIU scoring six runs followed by LCU tallying five runs.LCU secured the win in the ninth inning with Mccool's RBI single.
Isaac Stanwick, scored four runs and collecting two hits while also drawing two walks.
Joseph Cruz also made a significant impact, contributing four RBIs with his two hits, including a crucial two-RBI single in the seventh inning that tied the game.
Abiam Medina stood out with three hits, including a double, and two RBIs.

Lalo Salinas lasted 2.1 innings, giving up 9 earned runs on 10 hits. Despite efforts from relievers like
Austin Brewer and
RJ Patrick, who each faced their own Lubbock Christian's Chris Shull pitched 4 innings and allowed only 2 earned runs on 1 hit while striking out 5.
