Frisco, Texas – The #7 Dustdevils (25-6) continued post season play in the final four matchup on Saturday evening against #1 Texas Woman's (27-4) and fell 72-84.

The first half was a tale of two quarters. The Dustdevils took command early in the first quarter, stretching the lead to as many as 8 points. The quarter ended with TAMIU on top, 22-14.  TWU fought back in the second quarter, outscoring the Dustdevils, 25-14 to take a 39-36 lead into the halftime locker room. TAMIU shot 12-26 (50%) from the field and 5-12 (42%) from three-point range in the first half. Raiana Brown led the Dustdevils the first have with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Samiyah Worrell contributed 11 first half points on 4-6 shooting including 3-4 from beyond the arc.

TWU shot 13-22 (59%) shooting from the field and 3-7 (43%) from beyond the arc in the first half.

TWU hit their stride in the third quarter, connecting on 13-17 (76.47%) from the field including 3-4 (75%) from three, outscoring TAMIU 30-18 in the quarter. In the fourth quarter, TAMIU went 6-16 (37.5%) from the field and 4-5 (66.67%) from beyond the arc and outscored the Pioneers 18-15. However, it wasn't enough to overcome TWU's potent offense and the Dustdevils fell, 72-84.

Raiana Brown led the Dustdevils with 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals, while Samiyah Worrell added 14 points, including 4 three pointers. Ngozi Obineke contributed 11 points and 2 steals.

The Dustdevils now await their fate to see if they will move on to the National Tournament. The NCAA Division II selection show will be streamed live Sunday, March 10 at 9:30pm at NCAA.com.
