Denver, Colo. – The Texas A&M International Dustdevils traveled to Denver to open the season against MSU Denver. An explosive first half helped the Dustdevils to a 107-96 victory to start the 2025-26 campaign.
TAMIU opened the game on a tear, shooting 17-for-26 (65%) from the field, including 6-for-9 from three and 16-for-18 at the line, powering a 56-42 halftime lead. The Dustdevils matched MSUD with 18 points in the paint, won the fast-break battle 12–8, and posted 8 assists to only 4 turnovers.
The offense continued its efficiency after the break, adding 51 more points while shooting 18-for-33 (55%), highlighted by another strong paint presence (30 second-half points inside). TAMIU also added 14 bench points, 8 assists, and limited turnovers to just four over the final 20 minutes.
Jamyier Patton led the way with 24 points, knocking down three triples while adding six assists in a strong all-around effort.
Gaius M'Ella followed with 20 points on an efficient 8-for-11 shooting, contributing five rebounds and a pair of blocks to anchor the interior.
Caylen Goff Brown added 18 points, going a perfect 6-for-6 at the line and hitting two threes, while
Peyton Gusters delivered 17 points on a flawless 6-for-6 afternoon and grabbed five boards. Off the bench,
Spivey Word chipped in 10 key points, helping TAMIU maintain its scoring rhythm throughout the night.
The Dustdevils take on Black Hills State on Monday at 1:00 p.m.
