LAREDO, Texas — Dacia Jones scored 21 points and Texas A&M International used a strong second half to pull away for an 80–62 women's basketball win over Huston-Tillotson on Thursday night at the Kinesiology Building.

The Dustdevils led from the opening quarter, taking a 20–13 advantage after one period and extending the margin to 33–25 at halftime. TAMIU widened the gap in the third quarter and outscored the Rams 25–17 in the fourth to secure the victory.

Carmen Morcillo added 18 points on six made 3-pointers, while Angelique Morgan and Jaela Wade scored nine points apiece for TAMIU. Abigail Martinez finished with seven points and nine assists.

Jade Hillary led Huston-Tillotson with 24 points. Hayley Broussard added 14 points and 12 rebounds, and Haven Verrett grabbed 14 rebounds.

Texas A&M International forced 27 turnovers and converted them into 23 fast-break points, while also holding a 42–25 rebounding edge.

The Dustdevils improved to 3–6 overall. Huston-Tillotson fell to 3–9.

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: Dacia Jones, Junior, comes to Laredo from Lafayette, Louisana. She is the daughter of Deacon and Tassala and has two siblings. She is pursuing her degree in Kinesiology.

Jones delivered the most complete performance of the night, leading all scorers with 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting while helping TAMIU control the game from start to finish. She consistently finished in the paint, sparked fast-break opportunities, and anchored the Dustdevils during key runs in the second half. Her efficiency and scoring punch set the tone for TAMIU's 80–62 win.
