LAREDO, Texas — Texas A&M International built an early cushion and held off a late push to secure a 61–55 victory over CSU Pueblo on Saturday afternoon at the TAMIU Convocation Center.
The Dustdevils led for more than 35 minutes and opened the game on a 12–2 run, stretching the advantage to as many as 17 points in the first half. TAMIU carried a 28–22 lead into the break and matched CSU Pueblo point-for-point in the second half to maintain control down the stretch.
Jaden Kennis led CSU Pueblo with 18 points, knocking down five field goals and converting 6-of-7 at the free-throw line. Ty Adam added 10 points, while Mac Terry chipped in eight as the ThunderWolves shot 33.3 percent from the field and 20.0 percent from three-point range.
Texas A&M International was paced by Gaius Mervin M'Ella, who scored a team-high 17 points on 8-of-11 shooting while grabbing six rebounds. Spivey Word added 15 points, and Jamyier Patton contributed 12 points as the Dustdevils finished at 46.2 percent shooting from the floor.
The Dustdevils capitalized on turnovers and transition opportunities, holding a 24–12 edge in points off turnovers and outscoring CSU Pueblo 11–4 on the fast break. TAMIU also posted an 18–11 advantage in bench points to help seal the win.
With the victory, Texas A&M International improved to 5–7 on the season, while CSU Pueblo dropped to 7–4.

M'Ella delivered a team-high 17 points on 8-of-11 shooting, adding six rebounds while anchoring the Dustdevils in the paint. His efficiency and interior presence helped TAMIU build and maintain its early lead, making him the clear standout in the 61–55 win over CSU Pueblo.
