Laredo, Texas – The TAMIU Dustdevils battled it out with the #12 LCU Lady Chaps on Thursday night. In a back-and-forth game, the Chaps escaped with a 51-40 win.
The Dustdevil defense came out strong forcing six turnovers in the first twenty minutes. TAMIU also held LCU, who is shooting 38% from three-point range on the season, to just 1-13 (7.7%) from deep in the first half.
Led by
Trinity Chears who had seven first half points, the Dustdevils led the Chaps 21-20 at halftime.
The Dustdevils and Chaps stayed neck-and-neck throughout the third quarter and left the game tied at 32 entering the final 10 minutes.
The Chaps found an offensive push in the fourth quarter, outscoring TAMIU 19-8 to earn the win.

Josie Igherighe provided a spark on both ends of the court, finishing the night with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Chears tallied 12 points on the night and
Taylor Jacobson added seven.
TAMIU plays its last home game of the season on Saturday against Midwestern State. The game starts at 1:00 p.m., with a senior day presentation taking place before tipoff.
