San Angelo, TX- The Dustdevils traveled to Angelo State University for the ASU George & McCorkle Challege on Friday. The first day brought two challengers for the Dustdevils in Missouri Western State and Ouachita Baptist. The Dustdevils are coming in from a hot performance this past weekend, entering the tournament 5-1.

Game One
The Dustdevils took on Missouri Western State after beating them 4-3 last weekend in Conroe, TX. MWSU took the lead early as they scored in the first and the third. The Dustdevils answered back with two runs of their own in the bottom of the fourth. However, the Griffons scored two more runs to go up 4-2 as the Dustdevils were not able to answer back. The Dustdevils fell 4-2. Kennedy Greigo led in hits for the Dustdevils with two.
Eva Garcia and
Jenna Fabela each recorded one RBI for TAMIU.
Kylie Goad had seven strikeouts on the evening with 27 batters faced.
Game Two
TAMIU went up against a new foe for this year in Ouachita Baptist. OBU came into the match 3-0 on the year while TAMIU entered the next game 5-2. TAMIU bats were hot as the bases were loaded in the first inning and they were able to drive in two runs.

Jenna Fabela, and
Kristin Maldonado all had one RBI each. TAMIU would go on to win 3-2 over the Tigers.
Zakayia Fredrick walked away with the win, pitching all seven innings. Â Fredrick grabbed her third win on the year. Fredrick recorded two strikeouts while facing 26 batters.

TAMIU Softball will be back in action tomorrow at 11:00 AM and 5:45 PM against the same teams. The Dustdevils will play MWSU and then OBU to follow.
