San Angelo, Texas- The Texas A&M International Softball team took to San Angelo to take on the number four softball team in the nation. The Dustdevils fell to the Rambelles in a non-conference affair earlier in the season. The Dustdevils entered the doubleheader 12-9 overall and 5-4 in the conference. ASU entered the evening 16-3 overall on the season.

The first game the Dustdevils defense held the Rambelles till one run until the bottom of the fourth where the Rambelles rallied and scored seven runs. The Dustdevils were not able to answer and were run ruled. The Rambelles took the first game, 8-0. The Dustdevils finished with two hits, one by
Alana Garcia and one by
Kristin Maldonado.

The Dustdevils took to the second game on the day. The Rambelles started off early, scoring in the bottom of the first and second. TAMIU was able to answer in the top of the fourth whenever
Kennedy Griego singled to left field.
Valerie Loyola pinch ran for Griego. After a SAC bunt from
Eva Garcia, Loyola advanced to second. A single from
Jenna Fabela allowed Loyola to advance to third.
Katelyn Luera pinch ran for Fabela as TAMIU now had two runners on base to put them in scoring position. Alexia Rodriguez reached first on a fielding error which allowed Loyola to score. A double from
Victoria Espinoza brought home Luera as the Dustdevils tied the Rambelles 2-2. Angelo State would go on to score in the bottom of the sixth. TAMIU was not able to answer back as the Rambelles swept the Dustdevils in the doubleheader. TAMIU finished the game with eight hits, two runs and no errors.

Tessa Ramirez stepped into the circle for the Dustdevils in game two.

Dustdevil Softball will be at home this week as they take on Midwestern State on Friday and the number one team in the country West Texas A&M on Sunday.
