Portales, New Mexico – In the final game of the 2025 season, Texas A&M International fell to Eastern New Mexico 19-7, but the Dustdevils still secured the series win, taking three of four games against the Greyhounds.
TAMIU got off to a fast start, as
Eddie Saenz delivered a two-run single in the top of the first inning to put the Dustdevils ahead 2-0. However, ENMU responded quickly, plating four runs in the bottom half to take a 4-2 lead.
Haziel Cruz kept the momentum going for TAMIU in the second, launching a 2-run home run to tie the game at 4-4. The Greyhounds reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the frame with a single run.
The Dustdevils fought back again in the fourth. With the bases loaded,
Abiam Medina was hit by a pitch to bring home Cruz, and
Omar Cervantes followed with an RBI single to score
Nomar Prieto, giving TAMIU a 6-5 edge. But Eastern New Mexico's bats scored seven runs in the bottom of the fourth, swinging the game firmly in their favor.
TAMIU added one more run in the fifth when Medina was hit by a pitch for the second time with the bases loaded, but ENMU countered with two runs in the fifth and five more in the sixth to pull away.
Angel Larranaga got the start for the Dustdevils, working 0.2 innings and allowing four runs on four hits with one walk and a strikeout. TAMIU used six pitchers out of the bullpen, with
Michael Ramos taking the loss.
Despite the finale, the Dustdevils finished the series strong overall, winning three of four games to close out their 2025 campaign.
