Riverside, California-
Juan Monckeberg competed in day three and the final day of the NCAA Division II Men's Golf West/South Central Regional on Saturday with a solid showing. It was an impressive field of competition as the #1 ranked player in the nation and three of the top fifteen teams in the nation came to compete.
Monckeberg started off +2 on the first day but was able to battle back on round two and round three being below par both days at -1. During the Regional, Monckeberg impressively accounted eight birdies over three rounds and one eagle.
Coach Rudy Gonzalez had the following to say,
"What a great experience it was to compete in a national event at the oldest club in Southern California. The Victoria Club was spectacular-many thanks to everyone involved in running the championship. Juan played the course very well; we just did not quite catch the momentum needed to capitalize on the scoring holes. He represented the University with class and sportsmanship."
