Richardson, Texas – Texas A&M International men's soccer controlled the pace of play but settled for a 0-0 draw against Ouachita Baptist on Saturday at the UTD Soccer Complex.
The Dustdevils fired off 14 shots, including five on target, while holding the Tigers to just two attempts all match.
Jonathan Cervantes led the attack with four shots – three of them on frame – while
Tiziano Klamler added four looks of his own.
Byron Aguilar nearly broke through in the second half when his strike rattled off the crossbar.
Defensively, TAMIU was composed and disciplined. Goalkeeper
Ioannis Koupepides recorded a clean sheet without being tested, as the Dustdevil backline did not allow a single shot on goal.
Aaron Trevino,
Michael Ochoche and
Kai Louviere anchored a unit that stifled every OBU advance.
The result pushes TAMIU's record to 2-0-4 on the season. The Dustdevils faceoff against UTRGV on September 25. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
