RICHARDSON, Texas - Texas A&M International struggled to find an offensive rhythm Saturday afternoon, falling 68–42 to Texas-Dallas at the UTD Activity Center.
The Comets set the tone early, racing out to a commanding 42–13 halftime lead behind efficient shooting and defensive pressure. UTD connected on 56.7 percent from the field in the opening half, while limiting the Dustdevils to just 4-of-26 shooting (15.4 percent).
TAMIU showed improved energy after the break, outscoring Texas-Dallas 29–26 in the second half, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome. The Dustdevils finished the game shooting 26.8 percent from the field and 11.1 percent from three-point range.
Jamyier Patton led TAMIU with 10 points, knocking down three free throws and a late three-pointer while adding three assists. Aidan Williams contributed six points and five steals, while Peyton Gusters pulled down a team-high nine rebounds to go along with four points.
Texas-Dallas was led by Hudson Goellner, who scored a game-high 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting. Jaden Jefferson added 15 points, while Peyton Dulin chipped in 10 points and five assists as the Comets finished with 21 assists on 27 made field goals.
UTD held advantages in points in the paint (36–26) and second-chance scoring (18–6), and forced 19 TAMIU turnovers, converting them into transition opportunities throughout the contest.
The loss drops Texas A&M International to 5–10 overall and 2–5 in Lone Star Conference play, while Texas-Dallas improved to 4–10 overall and 3–3 in league action.

Patton led the Dustdevils offensively with a team-high 10 points, providing a spark in the second half as TAMIU outscored Texas-Dallas after the break. He attacked the lane, knocked down a timely three-pointer, and added three assists while handling the bulk of the backcourt responsibilities. Patton's steady play and scoring punch helped stabilize the offense during TAMIU's strongest stretch of the game.
