LAREDO, Texas — Texas A&M International used a big third quarter and a balanced scoring effort to outlast Cameron, 80–76, on Sunday afternoon inside the Kinesiology and Convocation Building at TAMIU.
Leading 34–32 at halftime, the Dustdevils erupted for 26 points in the third period to seize control, stretching the lead to as many as nine and taking a 60–51 advantage into the fourth. Cameron rallied late, pulling within a possession in the closing minutes, but TAMIU knocked down enough free throws and got timely stops to seal the win.
Carmen Morcillo paced TAMIU with 17 points, hitting five 3-pointers, while Racheal Emmanuel posted a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Angelique Morgan added 14 points, and Jayden Smallwood chipped in 13 off the bench. Dacia Jones finished with 12, going 10-for-14 from the free-throw line, as the Dustdevils improved to 6–6 overall and 3–3 in Lone Star Conference play.
TAMIU turned Cameron's mistakes into offense, scoring 28 points off 22 Aggie turnovers, and finished with a 36–22 edge in points in the paint.
Cameron (0–13, 0–5) was led by Madison Griggs' 26 points, while Kloe Heidebrecht hit six 3-pointers and totaled 24. Emmary Elizondo added five assists to go with eight points.
TAMIU outscored Cameron 20–13 in the second quarter to take its first lead, then matched the Aggies' late push, closing the game with composure at the line and on the defensive end.

She attacked the rim, drew fouls, and controlled the glass on both ends, helping TAMIU build momentum during its decisive third-quarter run.
