Less than three minutes later, Riley Brown doubled the lead, scoring an unassisted goal at the 5:03 mark to put TAMIU ahead 2-0.

The Lady Buffs increased their offensive pressure in the second half, outshooting the Dustdevils 10-3 over the final 45 minutes.

Perez continued to anchor the TAMIU defense, recording saves in the 56th and 60th minutes to keep West Texas A&M off the scoreboard. The Dustdevils' defensive unit held firm despite the Lady Buffs' sustained pressure, protecting the early advantage through the final whistle.
