Dustdevil Duo Earns All-Freshman Honors Following Strong Debut Campaigns

LAREDO, Texas — Following the conclusion of the 2026 regular season, the Texas A&M International University women's soccer program saw two student-athletes recognized for their performances on the field, as freshmen Lisa Stoico and Tatiana Perez Lluis earned Lone Star Conference (LSC) All-Freshman Team honors. The selections highlight the Dustdevils' emerging young talent and promising future.

Both forwards made immediate impacts during their first collegiate seasons, combining for five goals, including three game-winners, and 11 points while establishing themselves as key contributors to the Dustdevils' offensive attack.

A native of Verona, Italy, Stoico made her mark during her debut season, establishing herself as a consistent presence in the Dustdevils' lineup throughout the 2026 campaign.

The computer engineering major appeared in all 17 matches, making 16 starts and totaling 1,345 minutes of action. Stoico finished the season with two goals, including one game-winner, and one assist for five points.

Her explosiveness, determination and relentless work ethic made her a valuable contributor on the field throughout her first collegiate season.

"Lisa is an absolute machine," head coach Jovany Macias said. "She's the type of player every coach wants on their team and never wants to face on the opposing side. Her explosiveness and dedication have been tremendous throughout the season, and this is only the beginning of what she can accomplish during her collegiate career. She has an incredibly bright future ahead of her, and we're excited to see her continued growth at TAMIU."

Joining Stoico on the All-Freshman Team was Perez Lluis, a freshman forward from Barcelona, Spain, who also made an immediate impact during her first collegiate season.

The psychology major appeared in 15 matches while earning 10 starts, logging 993 minutes of action. Perez Lluis recorded three goals, including two game-winners, and six points.

Her ability to deliver in crucial moments made her a valuable presence in the Dustdevils' attack, with two of her three goals serving as deciding scores.

"Tatiana is incredibly deserving of this recognition, and I couldn't be more proud of her," Macias said. "She possesses special qualities that allow her to find success on the field, but what stands out most is her commitment and dedication every single day. Her hard work never goes unnoticed, and this honor reflects that. She has a bright future ahead of her, and we're excited about what she will continue to bring to TAMIU women's soccer."

The postseason selections highlight the promising future of TAMIU women's soccer, with Stoico and Perez Lluis earning conference recognition following impressive freshman campaigns. Their contributions throughout the 2026 season reflect the program's commitment to developing young talent as the Dustdevils continue building toward future success in the Lone Star Conference.
