TAMIU (8-20,5-15) led 34-33 heading into the second half with Luke Oxford and Jamyier Patton, combining with 18 points as well as seven points from Caylen Goff Brown.
UT Tyler (15-6,9-11) Patriots opened the second half with a 19-to-7 run with junior Sean Emfinger scoring 18 of his 25 points in the second half.
The Dustdevils fought back against the Patriot scoring run with 18 points in the second half coming from Caylen Goff Brown.
Unfortunately for the Dustdevils seven second half turnovers lead to 11 Patriot fastbreak points, and a 30-to16 points in the paint advantage for the Patriots secured their lead.
This was the final game of the season for the men's basketball team and the final game for Dustdevil seniors Spivey Word, Omarion Shackelford, Caylen Goff Brown, Gaius M'Ella, and Filip Mamic. All these players helped the Dustdevils tremendously in their time at TAMIU.
PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: Caylen Goff Brown, senior guard from Tulsa, Oklahoma, in his final game of the season scored 25 points with six made threes tying his season-high for made threes set on 11/24 vs Angelo State. Goff Brown finishes his career at TAMIU with 487 career points and 81 three pointers made. Caylen Goff Brown is currently pursuing a degree in Psychology.
