2020:
Resendez participated in four events for the Dustdevils. She had her best season performance at the Angelo State Blue and Gold where she placed 23:10.4.
2019:
Resendez competed in six meets for the Dustdevils and continued to see success. Resendez finished top 15 twice, one being a top 10 finish. Her sixth place finish at the Concordia Classic was her top finish, breaking the tape at 23:50.7. Resendez led the Dustdevils at the Lone Star Conference Cross Country Tournament with a 42nd place finish and a time of 24:49.88. Resendez also competed at the NCAA DII South Central Region Cross Country Championship, finishing with a time of 24:40.15.
2018:
Resendez competed in six races for the Dustdevils. Her best time was in the 2018 Saints Invitational (5K) there her time was 20:14.0. Her best 6K time came at the Concordia University Invitational with a time of 23:47.3. In the Heartland Conference Championships (6K) Resendez finished with a time of 22:34.7 which earned her the 9
th place. At the NCAA Division ll south Central Region Cross Country Champion she posted a time of 24:41.1.
2017:
Resendez had an impressive freshman campaign finishing 67
th at the NCAA Division II South Central Regional Championships in Canyon, Texas running 23:04.34 over 6,000-meters at The Range. She earned All-Heartland Conference Honorable Mention accolades after finishing 17
th at the conference championships running 23:39.5 over 6K. She finished fourth at both the Islander Splash and UIW Invitational. Finished 23
rd in her first collegiate race at the Norry Hersey Rice Invite covering the 3,900-meter course in 14:59.44.
High School:
At United South High School, Resendez was a two-time regional qualifier in cross country and four-time qualifier on the track. She earned 1
st Team All-District honors in cross country as a junior and senior. She earned the United State Marina Corps Distinguished Athlete Award as a junior in 2015-16.
Personal:
Karla is the daughter of Homero and Linda Greta Resendez and has three siblings, Linda, Brandon and Sebastian. She chose to attend TAMIU because it is close to home and has a beautiful campus. Her parents are her inspirational figure. After graduating she hopes to become a high school physical education teacher. During her free time, she likes to go for easy runs with her family, watch movies and just rest at home.
