2022: 
Hortelan played and started in 31 matches finishing with 404.5 points. She tallied 349 kills, dished out 31 assists, served 24 aces, totaled 424 digs and blocked 50 shots. 

Prior to TAMIU:
Hortelan joins the Dustdevils after beginning her career at Blinn College.

A native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Hortelan was a two-time First Team All-Region selection with the Buccaneers in 2019 and 2021 and a Regional Tournament MVP in 2021.

This past year, she ended the season with 223 kills, 317 digs, and a .153 hitting percentage.

High School: 
Giulia attended Colegio Marista Gloria in Sao Paulo and played both soccer ad volleyball. In 2016, the Gloria's won the state championships. 

Personal:
She is daughter to Agnes Rodriguez Hortelan. She has two siblings, Giovana and Gabriela. As she starts her career at TAMIU, Hortelan will pursue her Bachelor's in Business with an emphasis in Marketing.
