Ryan Jackson enters his first season with Dustdevil baseball, joining the program in January 2022.
Jackson brings with him five years of coaching experience, as well as playing experience at both the NCAA Division I level and Major League experience.
Jackson most recently was a volunteer assistant coach at Texas Lutheran University, where he oversaw the pitching staff and was responsible for developing the team's throwing program.
At that time, he was also a pitching coach for Naturals Baseball Academy with the 13U and 17U teams.
From 2017-2019, Jackson was an Assistant Manager/Trainer for Ochoa's Baseball Academy, as well as a volunteer coach for his high school alma mater, Nikki Rowe High School.
As a player at Nikki Rowe, Jackson was All-Valley Freshman of the Year in 2010 and in his senior year, earned All-Vallry Pitcher of the Year, Team MVP, Second Team All-Valley Third Baseman and Second Team All-Valley Pitcher, helping lead his team to becoming District and Bi-District Championships, as well as being an Area Finalist.
Jackson went on to UT Rio Grande Valley for college and was a three-time WAC Pitcher of the Week, WAC All-Academic Team, 2019 WAC Champion, First Team All-WAC Reliever and is second all-time in saves.
Following graduation, Jackson was signed by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 2019 Free Agent Draft. He spent time with the Gulf Coast Rays (Rookie Ball), Princeton Rays (Rookie Advance), Hudson Valley Renegades (Short Season Single A) and the Port Charlotte Stone Crabs (Advanced Single A).
A native of McAllen, Texas, Jackson earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Business Management from UTRGV in 2019.
