Before landing in Laredo, Filip attended Frank Phillips College in Borger, Texas. He earned First Team Academic All-Conference honors in his two years as a Plainsman.

Born on November 24, 2003, Filip is a native of Split, Croatia. He is the son of Ivan and Ljubica and has five siblings. He is pursuing his degree in Management Information Systems & Data Analytics.
