Ben Sabin

Ben Sabin was named the Texas A&M International University Assistant Volleyball Coach in July 2015. Sabin will take on his first role as an intercollegiate assistant head coach for the Fall 2015 season. He will work with Head Coach Susie Jangada, leading the Dustdevils as they compete within the Heartland Conference and other NCAA Division II schools.

Prior to TAMIU, Sabin spent two seasons as the Director of Volleyball Operations at Ball State University. He started at Ball State with the Women's Volleyball program in 2013.

Sabin made a lasting impression within the Indiana volleyball community. He coached the Wapahani High School boy's volleyball team starting in 2010 - turning the team into one of the elite programs in the state of Indiana. His career at Wapahani included over 110 wins, 9 All-Star nominations, 2 All-State nominations, and 5 consecutive years of being in the top 10 of the IBVCA Coaches Poll. Sabin's 2012 team earned a spot in the state finals, while the 2014 team earned a 3rd place ranking in the state.

Continuing his leadership, Sabin served as president of the Indiana Boys Volleyball Coaches Association and Boys Program Director for the Asics Munciana Volleyball Club. In 2011, he introduced a boys team to Munciana; three short years later, the team published an 18-1 record in 2014, along with a Top 10 finish at Nationals.

During 2012, the University of Illinois elite volleyball program thrived through Sabin's statisical and video-analyzing abilites. Serving as a volunteer under head coach Kevin Hambly, he became a master of the DataVolley program. He broke down video, scouted opponents, generated scouting reports, assisted in practices, helped with travel arrangements, and developed defensive schemes for Illinois.

As a 2012 graduate of Ball State University, Sabin earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology and Business. While an undergrad, he was a practice player for Dave Boos, and the student assistant/manager for Steve Shondell. He represented Ball State on the club volleyball team for three seasons as an outside hitter and libero. Sabin helped lead the team to secure a 3rd place finish at Nationals in 2009, while he earned the honors of 2nd team All-Conference and NCVF All-Tournament Honorable Mention.
