Biography

2016:
Gonzlaez will compete in her Senior season with the Dustdevils.

2015:
As a Junior Gonzalez played in 74 sets. She recorded 94 kills and 51 digs. Samantha finished with a team-high 56 blocks.
2014:
In her Sophomore season Samantha played in 83 sets. Gonzalez finished with a hitting percentage of .136. She recorded 25 digs and had 43 total blocks. Samantha's 43 blocks were second on the team. 

2013:
As a Freshman Gonzalez played in 61 sets. Samantha had a hitting percentage of .149 and recorded 12 digs and 24 total blocks.

High School: J.B. Alexander High School (Class of 2013)
Samantha graduated from Alexander High School in Laredo, Texas. She lettered in track and basketball for (2) years and volleyball for (4) years. In 2012 she was named Blocker of the Year. Samantha was also recognized in 2012 as the Laredo Morning Times All-City Team MVP.

Personal:
Samantha is the daughter of Toni and Sergio Gonzalez Jr. Her favorite athlete is Gabrielle Reece. Her favorite sports teams are the Chicago Bulls and Pittsburgh Steelers. Samantha's favorite book is "A Piece of Cake" by Cupcake Brown and her favorite vacation spot is Greece or anywhere in Europe. Her favorite quote is "I feel like a little kid who just walked into a candy store. I think that's something to smile about." - Brandon Boyd. Samantha chose TAMIU for the challenging academic program and student to faculty ratio. After TAMIU Samantha wants to graduate from a Physicians Assistant program and help an underserved city or town in Texas. In her spare time Samantha enjoys traveling, reading, and playing with her dog, Milo.
