Ana Lopez joins the TAMIU Sports Medicine staff as an Assistant Athletic Trainer, bringing with her a strong background in collegiate athletics and a passion for athlete care. A former student-athlete herself, Lopez played volleyball at Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont, where she excelled on and off the court.

During her time at Norwich, Lopez was named the GNAC Women’s Volleyball Athlete of the Week in Week 5 of the 2022 season, earned a spot on the GNAC Second All-Conference Team, and led her team with 226 kills that year.

Now back home in Laredo, Lopez is excited to support TAMIU student-athletes with the same dedication and energy that fueled her own playing career. As part of the sports medicine team, she contributes to the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries across TAMIU’s varsity programs.
