Casey Fowler enters his first season as head coach of the TAMIU Women’s Basketball program, bringing five years of head coaching experience and a reputation for fast-paced, high-scoring play.
Fowler spent the last three seasons at Lyon College, leading the program through its transition from the NAIA to NCAA Division III. Under his leadership, Lyon set multiple conference records, including most points in a game (144), average points per game (93.1), total assists (583), and total points in a season (2,515). His 2023-24 squad earned a runner-up finish at the USCAA National Tournament, and his 2024–25 team broke the conference record for most combined points in a single game (207).
Before Lyon, Fowler led Arlington Baptist to a 19-10 record and a runner-up finish at the NCCAA National Tournament. He began his head coaching career at Mission University in Missouri, starting the women’s basketball program and finishing with a 16-12 record in its inaugural season.
A Drury University alum, Fowler also served as a student assistant coach at his alma mater before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. He served eight years with Naval Special Warfare, completing deployments with Special Boat Team 22 and SEAL Team 18. During his service, he broke three Guinness World Records for NBA three-point shooting.
Fowler and his wife, Cassie, have two sons, Camden and Cohen. Together, they help create a family-focused environment within the program, emphasizing connection, support, and team culture.
