Eric Alvarez joined Texas A&M International University as the Sports Information Director on November 24, 2025. In his role, Alvarez leads the athletic communications efforts for the Dustdevils, overseeing media relations, game coverage, statistical reporting, and digital storytelling that highlights the achievements of TAMIU’s student-athletes and programs across multiple platforms.
Prior to joining TAMIU, Alvarez spent five years with Brinx.TV in Atlanta, Georgia, where he served as a Show Producer and Senior Video Editor. Working under Brinx.TV CEO and six-time Emmy Award winner John Brenkus, best known for ESPN’s Sport Science, Alvarez produced and edited a wide range of digital and broadcast programs while managing all phases of production from concept development to final delivery. He collaborated closely with directors, technical crews, and on-air personalities to deliver engaging live broadcasts and recorded programming, helping expand audience reach through compelling multimedia content.
Earlier in his career, Alvarez worked with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in Orlando, Florida, serving as a Marketing Coordinator for the NXT brand. During his time with WWE, he contributed to digital marketing initiatives and promotional campaigns supporting one of the company’s fastest-growing brands while also assisting with live event operations for NXT programming and events. His work included coordinating projects with external advertising partners, contributing to multimedia content creation, and supporting campaigns designed to engage WWE’s global fanbase through digital and social media platforms.
A Laredo, Texas native, Alvarez earned his Bachelor’s degree in Media Communications from Full Sail University.
