LAREDO, Texas – Texas A&M International University hosted a Heartland Conference showdown against Dallas Baptist on Saturday at the TAMIU Soccer Complex, falling 2-0 despite misplacing just two of its seven shots. The Dustdevils survived the Patriots' attacks throughout the first half, but a pair of second-half strikes sealed the scoreline.
The Dustdevils landed five shots on target, including three from Kim Garcia, one by Claudia de Lara and one by Rosalia Pujols-Burgos.
TAMIU goalkeeper Chelsea Knaack was replaced in the 85th minute after a collision on a Patriots' set piece, seeing Christina Morales close the match. Both keepers allowed a goal.
The Dustdevils next face Oklahoma Christian at noon at the TAMIU Soccer Complex on Monday.
