KINGSVILLE, Texas – Sister schools collided on Tuesday in a non-conference showdown as Texas A&M International University fell to Texas A&M-Kingsville, 3-0 (25-10, 25-18, 25-15). The Dustdevils (3-17), fresh off their biggest signature win over St. Mary's on Oct. 25, will return to Heartland Conference play when they face Oklahoma Panhandle State on Oct. 30 in Goodwell, Okla.
Against the Javelinas, TAMIU was led by Sophia Quinones, Tasmin Apple and Miaje Hubbard's four kills apiece. Caitlinn Williams and Lizzie Prieto had three and both Samantha Gonzalez and Alejandra Bustamante both contributed a kill apiece. Gonzalez blocked three attacks, Apple had two while Quinones and Prieto had one.
Prieto completed 17 of the Dustdevils 19 total assists, with only Bustamante and Sarah Truman adding one apiece.
Defensively, Bustamante dug out 13 balls along with Truman. Quinones and Koral Wright both had six and Prieto had three.
