FORT SMITH, Ark. – Texas A&M International visited Heartland Conference rival Arkansas-Fort Smith for a conference collision on Saturday, falling 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-18). The game was the second of a four-game road stretch for the Dustdevils (1-13, 1-7 Heartland).TAMIU's attack was led by junior college transfer Miaje Hubbard's (9 kills, 1 block) 10 points. Caitlinn Williams (6 kills) followed with six points and both Alex Ciszek (4 kills, 1 ace) and Tasmin Apple (5 kills) finished with five points apiece.
Lizzie Prieto converted all but four of the Dustdevils assists, tallying 24 in total. She also hammered three kills and completed a block.
Defensively, TAMIU was led by senior Sophia Quinones' 24 digs. Freshman libero Alejandra Bustamante finished with nine while fellow freshman Sarah Truman notched eight.
The Dustdevils will continue on the road – at Lubbock Christian – on Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. Their next home game will be Oct. 17 in a non-conference hosting of Huston-Tillotson.
