CLAREMORE, Okla. – Texas A&M International University faced its second road match in three days with a visit to Rogers State on Monday. The Dustdevils fell, 1-0, to the Hillcats, dropping to 1-1-0 in conference and to a 3-way tie for second place in the league.
Despite dominating the match in shots taken and shots on goal, it was one set piece that dismantled the Dustdevils' performance. A 71st minute corner kick conversion was the difference of the match, as TAMIU goalkeeper Chris Biddulph was beaten by a neatly placed header.
TAMIU out attacked RSU with 15 shots – five on frame. Biddulph made three saves, as his backline absorbed most of the Hillcats' attacks, allowing just four shots on target.
The Dustdevils will look to score back into the win column at the TAMIU Soccer Complex on Oct. 11 by hosting Lubbock Christian at 7:30 p.m.
