LAREDO, Texas (October 28, 2015) -- The Texas A&M International Volleyball team dropped a 1-3 loss to non-conference rival Texas A&M - Kingsville on Wednesday night (25-23, 18-25, 27-29, 19-25). The Dustdevils are now 7-11 overall in their 2015 campaign.
The first set flipped leads multiple times, before the Dustdevils took control and captured the 25-23 victory. A full team effort led to the win, giving TAMIU motivation as they moved into the next set.
In set two, the Dustdevils looked to extend their lead. The Javelinas had other plans, as they shook off their roads legs to put themselves on top, 18-25. TAMIU and TAMUK each had a set on their side.
During set three, TAMIU rallied to keep their chances alive, forcing overtime with the Javelinas. Despite extending the game, Kingsville came out on top, 27-29. Kingsville went on to take the fourth set, 19-25.
Senior Setter Lizzie Prieto tallied 35 assists, 14 digs, 6 kills and 5 blocks in the loss. TAMIU led in blocks with 9 total.
