KINGSVILLE, Texas (November 15, 2015) -- The TAMIU Men's Basketball squad concluded their appearance in the Kingsville Conference Challenge with a 53-56 loss to host Texas A&M Kingsville on Sunday evening. The loss starts the Dustdevils in their 2015-16 campaign at 0-2.

In the first half of play, the Dustdevils started strong, generating an 8-point lead five minutes into play. The Javelinas would take control of the lead in the next five minutes, netting four consecutive 3-pointers. Kingsville would hold the lead through the remainder of the first half by four points.

Four minutes into the second half, the Dustdevils pushed to catch the Javelinas again, equaling the score at 34-34 courtesy of Senior Veteran Anthony Alston. Despite the efforts of TAMIU, TAMUK pulled ahead again.

With 7 minutes remaining, TAMIU went to the line, allowing for Anthony Alston to again tie the score (43-43) on free throws. The Dustdevils would trade leads with the Javelinas until the final minute, in which TAMIU took the lead at 53-51. This score held until the remaining seconds, when the Javelinas took control with a 3 point shot. TAMUK sealed their win with two additional points from the line in the final second of play due to a Dustdevils foul by newcomer Jake Eynon.

The Dustdevils look ahead to capture their first win of the season at home when they host Paul Quinn in their first contest of the La Posada Classic on Friday, November 20. TAMIU will take the court at 5pm for the home opener action.
