CANYON, Texas (November 28, 2015) -- An early lead for the Texas A&M International Women's Basketball team was countered by a strong offensive drive from West Texas A&M Lady Buffs in Canyon on Saturday afternoon. The Dustdevils took a 57-90 loss against the Lady Buffs (5-0) after 40 minutes of play, moving TAMIU to 1-5 in the 2015-16 season.
Early in play, the Dustdevils out-scored WT in the first quarter, putting up 19 points against the Lady Buffs' 16 points. TAMIU delivered a strong effort to the undefeated WT team during the first ten minutes, capitalizing on their opportunities at the line. The meeting between the two teams was the second time in school history.

Keiona Mathews kept the Dustdevils rolling through the night, but their efforts were unable to hold on to their first quarter lead, resulting in a WT takeover for the remaining three quarters. TAMIU shot 26.1% percent beyond the arc, and 39.8% within. Nine of the 14 awarded free throws to the Dustdevils found their way through the hoop.
TAMIU finished the 2015 PAK-A-SAK Lady Buff Thanksgiving Classic with a 0-2 record, following losses to Lone Star Conference foes Cameron and West Texas A&M. Senior Guard

Looking forward, the Dustdevils will next take on Mary Hardin-Baylor(1-3) in Belton, Texas on Saturday, December 5th at 5:30pm. The Dustdevils(1-5) look to capture thier first road win of the season against the Crusaders.
